Jádson Viera

Jadson Viera Castro, born in Santana do Livramento, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil on August 4, 1981, is a Brazilian former professional football player and manager with Uruguayan nationality who currently manages Independiente.

Viera began his professional playing career at Danubio in 2001, where he won multiple Uruguayan Primera División titles before experiencing spells with Atlante in Mexico and Lanús in Argentina, winning the Torneo Apertura with the latter in 2007.

After playing for Vasco da Gama in Brazil, he returned to Uruguay to play for Nacional and later had subsequent stints with Danubio and Rentistas, where he retired from professional play in 2017.

Transitioning to the coaching staff, he served as an assistant to Alexander Medina from 2018 to 2023 across several clubs including Nacional, Talleres, Internacional, and Vélez Sarsfield.

He began his career as a head coach with Boston River in December 2023 before taking charge of Nacional in October 2025, leading the team to a league title before departing in March 2026.

In August 2026, Viera was appointed as the head coach of Independiente in the Argentine Primera División.
