Jorge Almirón

Jorge Francisco Almirón Quintana (San Miguel, Buenos Aires, June 19, 1971) is an Argentine former professional football player and manager who currently manages Rosario Central in the Argentine Primera División.

As a player, he was a midfielder who played lower-league football in Argentina before spending the majority of his career in Mexico, where he won titles with Monarcas Morelia and León.

Transitioning into management, he gained prominence for his successful stint at Lanús—where he won three titles (including the 2016 Argentine Primera División) and reached the 2017 Copa Libertadores final—as well as managing clubs across South America, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Spain, including Independiente, San Lorenzo, Elche, Boca Juniors (reaching the 2023 Copa Libertadores final), and Colo-Colo (winning the Chilean Primera División in 2024).

In December 2025, he took charge as the head coach of Rosario Central.
